School for Life

Welcome to One Hope International School

One Hope International School (OHIS) is located in Mae Sai, Thailand, a border town known for its proximity to Myanmar and the Golden Triangle, where Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos meet. Though close to a major commercial border crossing, Mae Sai remains a predominantly rural and residential area, nestled within reach of Chiang Rai city.

The region is home to a diverse, multicultural population, with influences from various hill tribes and neighboring countries like Myanmar, Laos, China, Cambodia, and the Philippines. Mae Sai’s district has a population of around 85,000, making up a small fraction of Thailand’s total population.

History

One Hope International School (OHIS) was founded in September 2019 by Armenio Manaia and Juliana Manaia, a visionary couple committed to serve Asian countries through Christian education. OHIS can be defined as a growing school, chosen to be developed with time and effort to become one of the best international schools in the region. Currently, the school supports classes from Kindergarten to Grade 5 and expects to grow, year by year, until Grade 12 in 2031. OHIS is founded on a long-term vision and strong moral values, aiming to impact more than just a student’s educational path. OHIS believes in the power of education to change lives.

Vision & Mission

To love every learner, regardless of their nationality, race, age, economic and social background, religion, and unique needs, supporting an inclusive education in a mainstream setting.
